G Harvey Artist

G Harvey Artist Gerald Harvey Jones -

A true blue American landscape artist, many of G Harvey’s paintings evoke the American masters of the previous century. He was heavily influenced by the great Edouard Cortes, and as such his paintings often evoke the nostalgia of a bygone era. Born and raised in his beloved Texas, G Harvey never strayed far from that which inspired him -- his oil on canvas paintings and bronzes both reflect that state’s romantic landscapes and peoples.

That’s not to say that Harvey didn’t experience success outside of the American Southwest -- he did. His work has been exhibited in some of the most famed galleries in the world including The Smithsonian and The Grand National Exhibition in 1965 (where he won the New Master’s Award). Harvey died in 2017, leaving a legacy of achingly beautiful landscape paintings, evocative bronzes, and above all else, lasting love for his native Texas. It’s obvious when viewing a Harvey that it is the work of a true American original.
