Knee Deep in Poppies by June Dudley
The most beautiful time of year in many places is wildflower time. Bluebonnets decorate Texas fields. Indian Paintbrush turns the meadows warm red and yellow tones. But perhaps the most dramatic are the fields of poppies. When in bloom they seem to be everywhere. With their delicate petals rippling in the breeze, they can turn a whole valley into a red carpet. How dazzling it must be to walk amoung them and inhale the sweet smell of spring.
