| "Sunset
Over the Gorge" is a major work by one of America's finest
landscape artists, Phillip Philbeck. Living about an hour west and
north of Charlotte, North Carolina, he is close to some of the most
beautiful land in the country. This painting features Hickory Nut Gorge
which was the location for much of the filming of the movie, "The
Last of the Mohicans". Philbeck paints the mountains, farms,
piedmonts and shores of his native state.
