One Fold, One Shepherd by Larry Dyke ~ “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with the shepherd.” JOHN 10:16 The rich, warm tones of this painting make it one of Larry Dyke’s favorites. As he painted, he thought of how the Lord gathers His people. This shepherd is urging his sheep to join the flock for their own protection. Similarly, God calls us to be His own. Even is this beautiful setting, the sheep are surrounded by rocks and rugged mountains, which present potential danger. The shepherd in the painting protects against these hazards just as God provides safety and protection within His flock for His children. He is with us in all seasons. “…neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ROMANS 8:39
