Biography continued...

Beecham calls his work painterly realism. He enjoys the drama of light and shadow as it plays on abstract shapes. His hope is that this interplay will result in a life expressing image, giving joy to the viewer and glory to God. Though landscape is inevitably part of the wildlife artistís repertoire, he finds himself drawn to the niche where an animal resides at a given moment.

Beecham, during his 29 years of painting, has become an incomparable interpreter of fur, skin, muscle, and movement. He can capture the tensile lift of a running wolfís haunches or the expression and personality of a snarling mountain lion. Beechamís father, the late Tom Beecham also an artist, was his first teacher. Greg did not pursue art during his high school years, but after serving in the Navy and going to college, he studied with his Dad throughout the summer of 1978. He has been painting full time ever since.

He has been featured in Art of the West, Southwest Art, Wildlife Art, Sporting Classics, U.S. Art and Bugle magazines. He is a member of The Northwest Rendezvous Group of Artists, the Society of Animals Artists, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
