THE OLD CHEYENNE--This is a “pencil” of
"The Old Cheyenne" which is Jack Red Cloud, son of Chief Red
Cloud. The reference photograph was taken in 1930 by Edward S. Curtis.
As an up and coming artist, Karchner was totally honored to be
introduced to two of the board members of the Charles Russell Museum
while in Cody, WY. After viewing Karchners' work, he was asked to submit
for their 2005 art auction. “The Old Cheyenne” is Karchners'
submission. |
