CHIEF TOSH~A~WAH--This is a "pencil" of "Chief Tosh~A~Wah," (Tosawi) a Comanche.
He is wearing a "Jeff Davis" hat along with a presidential peace medal around his neck.
"Chief Tosh~A~Wah" was drawn using a photograph for reference taken by photographer,
William S. Soule in 1868.

Reference photos made available by the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cody, WY.

The original was donated and accepted for permanent placement in the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville , Georgia in October, 2005.
