Wygant, who many feel is the father of Texas art, offers this refreshing
piece featuring elk crossing a river in the mist of early morning. The
day will be sunny and bright, but bitter cold. Snow covers the bushes
that border the river giving the piece a delicacy not often seen in such
pieces. Wygant's paintings hang in many corporate collections in Texas
and surrounding states. Although he has been best known for his
cowboys, many of his works feature elk and deer in "magical"
settings.
